I've been having very vivid dreams every night for the last 2 weeks....?

This is something new for me. I've even thought in my dreams that I must be dreaming because the stuff happening was just too wild. Anyhow not sure what has brought all this on. In the mornings I'm feeling really wiped out too, very tired all day. Any thoughts as to what can be causing this to happen?

Update:

No I'm not on anti-depressants or anything else. I just read an article on Lucid Dreaming and it kinda freaked me out. That sounds exactly like what's going on with me. Which leads me to my next series of questions. How can I make it stop? Why has it suddenly started to happen and every night at that?

sounds like you are teetering on the border of lucid dreaming. Check out the movie "waking life" for more information!

Well if it is spring break I will assume you are watching a lot more television and doing a lot more leisurely activities, and you haven't had to worry about a lot because of the break there are two things which your dreams mean. 1) When you dream it is a method of storing information. When you dream you dream based on the information you need to store. If you have been spending more time watching movies or playing video games your brain is likely to be storing more information related to codes and cues of narrative format (due to the fact that you likely aren't doing a lot of math work) and thus your dreams will likely utilize this form as a means of creating frameworks. 2) With a lowered amount of stress, you are able to have a more "full" sleep. You are not likely to be worried or anxious. This means that anxieties are not manifesting in your dreams (so there is no need for the unconscious to battle them as a problem solving method) and finally, you are getting extra sleep so your dream state is actually longer.

I'm guess the reason you are suddenly having more vivid dreams because new issuses have entered your life. If you do believe you are have lucid dreams try to figure what is the meaning of these dreams. Lucid dreams are pretty cool. with practice you can lead them to follow a sort of 'story' you want, basically controling them. Don't fret, it also maybe your going to bed more tired than normal get more sleep.

I have the same issue with all of my dreams and it's being going on for as long as I can remember. I'm going to star your question so I can check you answers later for an explanation.

This is going to sound weird,

but sometimes my vivid dreams come true.

There is a medication, Chantix, that is used to stop smoking but can cause people to have vivid dreams. Has your sleep schedule changed because of a pet, baby, new job etc. If so, you are probably remembering your dreams, because you wake up in the middle of them. Try to go to bed earlier.

Are you on anti-depressants? I have had similar experiences since starting lexapro.
