I found a very small red crab-like tick on my armpit what does it mean?
I'm still a virgin, haven't done anything and I found a very small red crab-like tick that was attached to my upper armpit (there was no hair near where it was). What the hell did I find???
The virgin part is important because I knew people were going to say "oh you got an STD" when, in fact, I don't. (obvious Hollie B. didn't read the info.) Again, the place where the crabish thing was found was not near any hair...and I'm not a 'hairy individual'.
I should also mention that I've been inside for...a week or so (only went out once and that was walking from car to house and then house to car, no trees or anything) and only tonight did I find it.
Is it possible I got it from my cat? We took her to the vet today, but she wasn't there for long and I definately haven't pet her with my armpit...

Ticks, or crabs, can be acquired in numerous situations. It wouldn't matter if you were sexually-active or not, because ticks are living animals that travel from place to place. You could have gotten it hiking, swimming, or being in a different environment altogether. My only suggestion is yes, get it checked by a doctor, and perhaps check elsewhere for other ticks. You don't just get them where hair grows, they can attach themselves anywhere. I hope I helped :D

Hello Reena: Ok that is not what breast cancer looks like Ok. so that is the good thing. And at age 13 it is very very very rare to get breast cancer. That does not mean there has not been 13 year old who have gotten it. It just means in this case your right you most likely have a pimple or a cut from shaving your pits. When a women gets breast cancer they are usually over 40 and they find a lump in the breast area. that goes for men too. But at 13 please go out and have fun and enjoy life and not worry about cancer yet. Life is to short any way so go have fun and enjoy your youth . Eat right exercise and laugh every day and see your doctor once a year for a physical is your best way to fight cancer at your age.

The number one way to get crabs is from sexual contact. Therefore, sexual partners should be treated simultaneously to avoid re-infestation. The lice are very small and look like brown or grey dots on the skin. Crabs usually cause intense itching and lay small white eggs on the hair shaft, generally close to the skin surface. In hairy individuals, crabs may be present on the short hairs of the thighs and trunk, underarms, and occasionally on the beard or mustache.
It's possible to get crabs from infected bedding, towels and clothes. Although highly unlikely, it is theoretically possible to get crabs from a toilet seat.
Crabs are equal opportunity pests found in the genital areas of men and women.
The most common symptom of crabs is extreme itching in the genital area.
Crabs are slightly larger than sesame seeds and resemble miniature crabs. They can be found by closely examining the genital area under a bright light.
Treatment
Crabs treatment is similar in manner to that used for head lice. It is important to treat the infected area thoroughly, which will include anal hairs and on the thigh area. Lice will spread to these surrounding areas, so complete treatment is necessary. It is also a good idea to treat sexual partners to reduce the chance of re-infestation.
Apply RID® Lice Killing Shampoo to DRY HAIR only, until area is thoroughly wet, being careful not to allow the product to come in direct contact or penetrate mucus membranes. Use caution to apply it to the skin and hair, but avoid the anus or vaginal openings since this may cause irritation or burning.
