Why can't I answer just this one question by a new user?

I am still trying to determine the cause of the problem. One possibility is a percent in the answer. I have found that if you save a very short answer and then quickly go back and edit it with the full answer it works.

REVISED: That is definitely a cause. I had to remove the percent sign and replace it with the spelled out version to get it to work.

According to a report in the forum the problem seems to also occur with other special symbols within a message.

I got alot of that yesterday,

though I could send messages and vote;

but fortunately not today.

I find the new system more a hassle;

though to be fair they might be working out some bugs.

Lot's of "breathers" and "coffee breaks" are being taken.

As before, "obama" and "wikipedia" still show up in the spell check.

TIP:-Try to Shorten the answer what you're trying to post.This will allow you to post the answer.It happened to me Yday and when I shortened the answer it LET me post!!

All yesturday and today i've been get breathers and coffee breaks by trying to ask a question and I still haven't got to ask it.

There's been a problem for a couple of days now.

Try just typing in a few words, "submit" & then "edit" and finish your answer.

That should work.

they are still taking a coffee break. it has been happening to me every time i come on here. they much take a coffee break more times then me in one day

i can answer it.
