CT Striper Fishing???

Where are the stripper hitting in CT? I'm from central CT in Newington...and i am wondering where they are in the sound? i usually go to fenwick off the light house in my boat, and earlier they were hitting good but now it seems they are only schoolies. I'm looking for a good spot to go on the shore not so much the boat because gas prices are killing me. also what type of bait do you use, and what time of day is the best, besides high tide....thanks in advance
