Have you ever had an extended brain fart?

For example: I was about 26 before I realized that saying "jewing someone down on a price" was a slur to the Jewish race.

Then, out of nowhere, it hit me. I just never made the connection between that phrase and that stereotype.

Any stories?

Update:

Nappy Gyal, that's hilarious. I have that album!

Yeah. All my life I thought that Ibiza song by the Vengaboys was saying 'we're going to eat pizza' until I (unfortunately) heard it the other day and realised they said we're going to Ibiza. Whoopsie

haha, im the same as nappy gyal. i kinda wondered why in the video clip they were dancing on an island and there was no pizza around, but i just never really thought about it.

i always have short-term brain farts, like forgetting how to spell 'tree' and thinking that 'have to' was spelt 'hafto'.

yes, ironically mine was a racial thing, too..had know idea (I'm so not racist or a hater of any type)...

It's the old honest injun...I always thought it was honest engine (we're talking a seriously extended brain fart here). My boyfriend asked me one day how I can be so vehement on the subject of racism and yet say something like that. I'm all like....uhh, you think I'm offending the trains? holy hell life is fun when you're a blonde! :-)
