What are the odds I'll have a good week?

I am leaving tomorrow for nine days at the beach. There are two goofy tropical systems out there, but otherwise, with a couple dueling low pressure systems, I may be visiting Lake Atlantic. Anybody heard any long range predictions for the northeast US?

Update:

The "lake" part is sarcasm, the storms are what I am hoping for. Oh well, I'm on my way. At least I'll have my long board along.

You're probably skunked John but here may be some salvation on the horizon for late in the week and into the weekend. I'm not sure how it will carry up into NJ. Fay's gonna be a nonevent, unless you're in Frisco...and that's a big maybe.

Hey John :) I don t know if you ll be reading this because you haven t posted in quite some time but I noticed that you surf alot. I really want to get into surfing, I am only 13 but I know I can do it and I really feel like I have to. I think about surfing all the time and how much fun it must feel to swipe the water as you ride the wave and feel the drops on your skin as you speed through the tunnel of water. I live about an hour or so away from the beach, I can probably go there every weekend- every other weekend. I was wondering if you knew where I should start and how I should train before I jump into it. I can t get a tutor. I have a bofy board thats about 4"5, it says I can surf on it I guess on the label. Can I use that to start or would that just be stupid? Also I m kind of afraid of sharks so I want to surf but any advice on getting over that fear. Any advice at all? Thanks so much for reading this have a great day!

I think its supposed to be nice and sunny a few clouds but i don't think you'll have to worry about storms maybe one or two small ones but hey forecasts are always wrong so sorry this might not be what your looking for but you might not want to take my advice you might just wanna wing it.

i think your only chance is going to be if "Fay" comes off the mid-atlantic as a nice low. i dont see that happening though.

Any place with the name "lake" attached to it will probably be flatter than a pancake!!!!

  • Well if you plan on surfing I think the odds are low...
