I have tried sprays, lotions, creams, etc. to rectify this problem. Any other suggestions you can offer.

patrick if you have tried the name brands and they don't work then you will need a prescription but what might help is to understand what helps jock itch to grow ..HEAT ... keeping that area as cool and as dry as possible
is the key to treating it besides medications .. i know its difficult but the more you can air it out .. and the looser clothing you wear and the coller the outside environment is , the better off you will be ..
Also many guys don't dry very well after they shower , the mositrure left over will help jock itch to grow .. so be diligent about that ...
JUST IN CASE its not jock itch ... try a combination cream of both anti fungal and another one ...
Bordeux butt paste is a real product distributed by walmart it was invented by a compound pharmacist and it has a few different meds combined and baseball players love it because not only does it soothe and get rid of their jock itch , it is also very smooth on that area and allows them to move a bit more smoothy...

Lamisil ointment or spray is the best bet. But remember, you have to apply it anywhere from 5-10 days. This is something that is not cured with one application. If you have to go longer than that, see your doctor. Also you can buy GoldBond powder to put on to keep it dry in that area.

Lamasil (terbinafine) cream/ lotion is the most effective drug that is available over the counter. You need to make sure you keep using it for 1-2 wks after signs of the infection have gone. Also, wash your towels/ bedclothes etc. If this doesn't work you may need a prescription for oral medication from the dr.
Maybe its dermatitis????????????In which case the above will in fact make it worse!!!!!!!

Shower twice a day, especially before bed. Dry the area thoroughly and use a medicated powder. Wear loose fitting underwear, boxers. If you sweat during the day, change your underwear and powder again.
The key is to keep dry down there.

You need to see the Dr. to make sure what you have - it could be crabs, yeast infection, or fungal - while you are waiting to get an appointment - keep it dry and air it out.

Try something with the chemical "tolnaftate" in it. Not sure that's how it's spelled.
If that don't work then try stuff to get rid of crabs.
And if that don't work you should go see the doctor.
