How do people get 4 categories in Top Contributor?

Question

I know that users are meant to have a max of 3 categories that they can be TC in. But why have some people got 4 categories? Is it a glitch? a cheat?

No i don't think it is cheating its probably a error,  although cheating is the rife in yahoo Q&As including using multiple accounts and copy and pasting other members answers this can be reported for breaking community rules.

Once i achieved 3 categories, i concentrated on a 4th.  I know i got enuf Best Answers but a 4th never did show up.  Finally, the new category replaced one of my original 3 categories.  
I have seen people with 4 and i believe i saw someone with 5.  That's why i thought there wasn't any reason to have a limit.  But 3 it is.  At least so far.

i have seen this before( only recently though).
when you hover over their avatar, you see 4 TC categories, but their profile only displays 3. 
I believe that you can be a TC in as many categories, but only your top 3 categories will be listed. the fact that 4 is listed when you hover over the avatar is a glitch, definetely not a cheat.

Yep, it must be a glitch, because even the rule thing says 3 is the max. Unless maybe he is part of the network?
I'd say that it's just a glitch though, or maybe he is tied with top answers in 2 catagories so they both show....
Can't tell you for sure though.
