Why is information on the Russia/Georgia conflict manipulated?

I live in Europe, and am basically a french speaker ... i talk actually 5 languages and therefore have access to information's/news in 5 languages.

I witness different opinions or thoughts ... but this time it is absolutely impressive how much the information about Russia/Georgia is different in English than in french / German ...

Do you think that the english news system is corrupted ??

News in English talk about Georgians being victims while in other languages you have a strong flow saying Georgians attacked Ossetians and Abkazians and even committed many war crimes.

Does politics influence news ?

Why should that lead you to believe that the English news is corrupted? What about the French/German news that you are watching? As with any news, you have to look at the facts, and then look at what the news builds up around the facts. Whether you look at American news, the BBC, Russian, or Georgian news....you still get basically the same story. It's the rationale, justification, cause-effect that they build around it that differs. The only way to really know for sure is to go there. Most people cannot or would not like to head over there right now. You have to take surrounding evidence to draw conclusions. I look at the Russian lies and aggression and it leads me to believe that they are in the wrong. Maybe they are not; that possibility exists, but then why misrepresent your actions and the facts if you are in the right? It seems to me if they were in the right that they wouldn't deceive people about events. Usually honest people that have done nothing wrong are very open.

Here in America, absolutely. Our Media is not the honest and unbiased media that it is suppose to be, not in this day and age anyways. Seems they all spin their stories to produce the outcome the owners of that Media want. Sad but true.
