If i use cream of tarter to help turn my eggs into soft peaks, how much cream of tarter do i use per egg white?

Does cream of tarter have a taste?

Ive tryed making soft peeks or peeks for that matter and nothing ever happened, any tips would be appreciated. Like how long this is suppose to take.

    1/8 teaspoon per white and it doesn't take too long, like 2-3 min
