Is my employer allowed to release my medical information to coworkers?

Is this covered under HIPPA or the California Privacy Laws? My employer (who is trying to find a reason to fire me) shared with my coworkers the medical reason why I am absent from work. She is attempting to get them to dislike me as well. Are there any laws protecting me? This person seems to be able to do whatever she wants with no recourse...

Sounds like a lawsuit to me! Your employer has no right to discuss your medical information, unless your condition poses a risk to their health.

their personal coverage would not override employment regulation. that's in all possibility that lower than your state regulation, the exertions commissioner's workplace already had a real to envision your timesheets. If not, I make certain that the criticism you filed with the exertions commissioner's workplace gave them the right to envision each and every thing on your employment document. you're asking the authorities to envision that you're authentic, so that they get to ascertain all of it.
