    The first 9 is in the ten-thousands place. The second 9 is in the ones place.

    The 8 is in the ten-millions place.

    The 5 is in the one-millions place.

    The 1 is in the hundreds place.

    umm well your arrow is kinda off

    but the nine is in the 10 thousands

    so that nine in the first number is 90000 or ninety thousand

    the eight is in the 10 millions

    so 80000000 or eighty million

    the five is in the millions (ones)

    so 5000000 or five million

    and the one is in the hundreds

    so 100 or one hundred

    answer form: value -> place value -> scientific notation

    90,000 -> 10's of thousands -> 9x10^4

    80,000,000 -> 10's of millions -> 8x10^7

    5,000,000 -> millions -> 5x10^6

    100 -> hundreds -> 1x10^2
