basically its just counting starting from the right to the left starting with ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands, hundred thousands, millions, ten millions, hundred millions, billions. generally you only really need to know up to there. most numbers dont really go all the way up there but here are the answers...
the first nine from the left is in the ten thousands
the eight is in the ten millions
the five is in the millions
the one is in the hundreds
