The government can primarily control its debt by increasing taxes and/or reducing spending. Job creation can help reduce debt by increasing tax revenue and reducing expenditures on unemployment insurance and welfare payments, but it shouldn't be relied on to balance a budget.

By being frugal, establishing spending priorities, eliminating all earmarks, getting Rangle to pay a huge fine for deceiving the public with outright lies, reducing personnel in the over staffed bureaucracy in every Dept which is not involved in the nation's security. Let that happen through attrition.

Source(s): Job creation has to come from the industrial sector of the economy, through more research and development of fuels( extraction from oil sands), promoting oil drilling now, developing cars which run on an abundant resource, natural gas and gasification of coal, our most abundant resource. Listen to T. Boone Pickens.
