WHERE does stem cell research come from?

Does stem cell research come from an already aborted embryo/fetus or is it done while it's still alive?

Embryonic stem cell research comes from embryos that are only a few days old. The other person is right, by the time a baby would be aborted, its too old.

The embryos are created in a lab for women under going IVF. After the woman successfully becomes pregnant, the rest of the embryos are destroyed. It doesnt matter if research is done on it or not, it is destroyed either way.

The age of the embryo in the lab is literally only a few days old and then frozen so that it stays viable, but does not continue to grow. IF this were an embryo in a human (which its not), it probably would not have implanted yet, but even if it had, the woman certainly wouldnt even know she was preg at this point.

Adult stem cell research comes from cord blood donated after a live healthy birth, bone marrow, peripheral blood stem cells and skin. They are working on other forms of adult stem cell research as well.

By the time it's mature enough for an abortion, a fetus is too mature and doesn't have embryonic stem cells in it. You have to produce a blastocyst and destroy it to obtain the cell line. The commercialization of the process is what many find objectionable, feeling that a life or potential life (depending on the individual's viewpoint) should not be produced for business purposes, no matter the eventual end.
