Does anyone know if this is actually a cure for cancer?

Just found this while doing some unrelated research, was hoping to find out if anyone knows what the deal is.

Dichloroacetate (DCA) as a potential metabolic-targeting therapy for cancer.

There are numerous studies on DCA.

In the first (cited below) the review of the scientific and clinical rationale supporting early-phase cancer clinical trials can be found.

However...Dichloroacetic acid (DCA) is associated with liver carcinogenicity in rodents. It is still a question in humans as to what it will do. Numerous studies point to it being a neurotoxin.

What is interesting is that it depletes the glutathione (GSH). Some time ago researchers felt that glutathione encouraged cancer. Cancer cells were flooded with GSH.

So doctors started decreasing GSH levels. Patients died. Cancer rates went up in these patients.

Then they discovered that GSH floods cancer cells because it kills them. However there are no high level studies that look at boosting GSH as a cancer cure.

Anecdotal evidence shows that boosting GSH has proven to be beneficial in stage four lung cancer, HIV Aids, Prostate Cancer and numerous lung related diseases.

Incidentally, the antidote for Tylenol poisoning is taking a med that boost your glutathione. GSH sacrifices its self to protect a cell. Boosting GSH is also a treatment for autism and lead poisoning.

So it does not seem that taking a neurotoxin that is a cancer causing substance in some animals and that kills our bodies natural defense to poison, the natural antioxidant, and immunity booster would be a cure for cancer.

Incidentally, you cannot take GSH and derive any real value. All you can do is take either the foods that have the building blocks, the drugs that are similar to the natural building blocks or nutricuticals that have the building blocks.
