I just read a very interesting article about the evolution of the "Us against Them" mentality at work in America and what it has cost everyone. I think it's well-written and makes solid, non-judgemental points;

I don't think the issue is "Get rid of all of the religious nuts. Extremism has it's uses - I think the problem is that we've let extremism become the driving force instead of part of the mix.

Yes, because "getting rid of all the religious nuts" is most certainly the way to go. Do you realize how ignorant that statement is? You don't know anything about the true creation of the Universe. You can't claim to. You can only theorize, and poorly, I might add. Neither side should be completely shunned.
