A dilemma regarding our pet?

If you have pet (cat, dog, mouse etc), will you castrate it or not?

I mean, you as human for sure dont want to castrate yourself so why do such thing to your pet?

(If they can talk like human, they probably say "Dont castrate me!!")

Update:

Jeffy:

I will never do that.

Your idea during the 'hot' season, sumthing that i can use. Good idea!

i will never "castrate" my male dog...

so kesian la..why must remove the cute two lumps la?

but one day i probably will get my female dog to be spayed..

    by vet of course..

talk about the bloody mess that happen twice a year..but at least my dog is a sensible one..she knows how to clean up after herself..

yang buat headache is the bunch of male strays huddling in vigil in front of my gate during her heat period..in case she slips out maybe..

    [perhaps they gonna gang-rape her??]

i usually separate my male & female dogs during her heat period..

    so my options are :

    - female dog = spay ---> maybe

    - male dog = castrate? NEVER!!

    how bout you ryuzaki?

    ADD :

i have some friends who claimed castrating their male dogs made the dogs more fierce..or something like that..

sometimes i just dont get it, if they want some fierce dogs..why not get guard dog (rottweiler, doberman,g.shepherd etc)..

by the way, the task of separating them during heat seaon is not as simple as we thought..i had a breeder friend who actually locked her female dog in a cage..

then later on found the male humping the cage..the p*nis actually reached the female's genital..

    (sorry too explicit)

three months later, she had a litter of pups..

    ohh, the power of libido...

Great I found this question ryuzaki...

From what I have heard is that the castrating of pets is to reduce the number of abandoned and homeless pets in the streets and also to reduce unwanted breeding...

Personally for me, I prefer not to castrate my pets because I believe they are also entitled to their own life and how they want it to be.. But ironically, the local animal group which I am currently volunteering strongly believes in the castrating of pets...

So... unfortunately, there is a conflict of interest here...

When I was still single, my father always had our male dogs castrated. I forgot his reasons why. When I got married and we started having pet dogs, i expected castration of our male dogs too, but hubby says it's a big NO NO! So he has the last word, so there!

ew,, why should we?? pity them ar,, i dont think its fair,,

animals can feel the pain just like human, one should not do that to the pet.
