It's tough to only choose four. Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan are givens. Wilt Chamberlain deserves to be up there too. The fourth one is tough. I went with Bird because there isn't a small forward up there.

Dr. James Naismith- he's the inventor of the game.
Michael Jordan- Arguably the greatest player of all-time.
Kareem Abdul Jabbar- NBA's All-time leading scorer.
Magic Johnson- Great ambassador for the game, in some ways brought about the modern fast break tempo of basketball.
