I think it's very, very sad that Americans are still arguing over McCain's age and Barry's "terrorist ties" as we approach hyper-inflation and the destruction of our currency. We are *stupid*.
Congress received emails against the bail-out at a 100-1 ratio, yet nobody seems to understand that this is classified under DERELICTION OF DUTY. Sure, let's all vote for leaders that back bills that aren't supported by us.
Once again, we are *stupid*.

They never realized just how stubborn Bush would be in using his veto power. Well over 17 passed bills of legislation has been vetoed by Bush. Some times the same bill, vetoed once-then revised-passed and then vetoed again.
The emergency funding for the troops in Iraq for example. The first had a time time for withdraw attached to it-so Bush vetoed it. The second had a much milder, but strongly suggested projected (if all goes well) time line for withdraw. Bush vetoed that too. Both of those bills Obama voted yes. Then the one with no requirements for an exit plan (or hope of an exit plan) Obama voted No. And so McCain can say Obama voted against Emergency Funding for the Military.
And the critical comments about Obama voting "Present" instead of Yes or No? That is his prerogative isn't it? And nothing is said about McCain's lack of votes?

I have not been overly impressed with the Democratic congress. It is somewhat lacking in spine. Of course, it is hard to get things done with an incompetent administration, a base 1 seat majority in the senate, and a President Bush who will veto any meaningful legislation you try to pass. I think their strategy was to hold off and wait until after the 2008 election to push their agenda through. And I think you will see a totally different, energized democratic congress next year working with President Obama. Of course they have been dealt a terrible hand - a 2-7 off suit if you will.

I find it interesting that when there is a "changing of the guard" on Capitol Hill, the incumbent party gets all high and mighty about change (Remember the Republicans' "Contract with America"). The problem is once they get inside of Capitol Hill and shut the doors, it's business as usual. Nothing gets done, and then when the other party starts finger pointing, nothing TRULY gets done. Both parties of full of pompous windbags who have no clue how to work together to make our country better. They are only interested in how much pork barrel $$ they can get and what tie goes best with their outfit when they finger point on TV. It's completely depressing how our government gets nothing done. Look at what their inactivity has wrought on our country now. Pathetic.

that was just a preview of what would be to come if obama somehow got into the white house. look back over the last two years, and are we in better shape now that the democrats are controlling congress?
i don't think so. and our economy will get a lot worse if we have to pay higher taxes because of obama.
by the way, if people will take a look at obama's record, instead of letting themselves be mesmerized by the "change" mantra, here's a recipe for disaster based on what obama has done already:
He voted against banning partial birth abortion.
He voted no on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions.
Supports affirmative action in Colleges and Government.
In 2001 he questioned harsh penalties for drug dealing.
Says he will deal with street level drug dealing as a minimum wage affair.
Admitted marijuana and cocaine use in high school and in college.
His religious convictions are very murky.
He is willing to meet, unconditionally with Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Kim Jung Il and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Has said that one of his first goals after being elected would be to have a conference with all Muslim nations.
Supports granting drivers licenses to illegal immigrants.
Supports extending welfare to illegal immigrants.
Voted Yes on comprehensive immigration reform. Would result in 20 million instant citizens never having paid SS, many refusing to speak English, immediately sending for their 40 to 50 million extended relatives telling them not to wait and obey the laws, the once mighty USA is theirs for the taking.
Voted Yes on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security.
Opposed to any efforts to Privatize Social Security and instead supports increasing the amount of tax paid.
He voted No on repealing the Alternative Minimum Tax.
He voted No on repealing the ‘Death’ Tax.
He wants to raise the Capital Gains Tax.
Has repeatedly said the surge in Iraq has not succeeded.
Has never served in the military and has never visited Afghanistan, and hasn’t bothered to visit Iraq since Jan. of 2006.

Cookie hon, lets see now...
(1) Ron Paul has been KO'd tho many will write in his name.
(2) Bob Barr of our libertarian party IS active at current.
(3) Chuck Baldwin is active & has been endorsed by Ron Paul.
Your like me, ya wanna write in Ron out of protest. BUT, I know ya to well! You won't waste a vote cause Ron said "If I don't get the nomination, vote for a third party candidate" Barr is not quite what you & I want cause Ron had it ALL for us! Tho I'm voting for Barr for our parties sake/recognition, you will not!
I predict YOU are voting for "chucklin" Chuck Baldwin!!! If ya are that is a HOT pick for sure! . Could you imagine being stuck voting for one of the "dynamic duds"??? Tragically MANY main stream media junkies will get GG'd(gully gullibled) into voting for the big "O" or the big "M"
The only good thing out of the "Duo" is Sarah. She's more Libertarian so that's good, BUT, she's stuck with John "slow bear" McCain & that's NOT so good! Let me know if I'm right about your pick!

Well, they did deliver a 'New Direction.'
What really worries me is Obama's platform of 'Change'.
Words of wisdom...Be careful what you wish(or vote) for...you just might get it!
BTW... I like how you typed mc cain, and obama in lower case...My sentiments exactly!
Protest the system...Write in Ron Paul!

Totaly. I didn't care for McCain from the beginning. Sarah does do the party a lot better, but the choices for pres just suck. Although anything is better than Obama.

Repubs and Demorats are destroying this country, These parties are nothing but PUPPETS! McCain, Obama same thing! 2 sides of the same coin, working hand in hand for the fall of America.
