1989 ford escort automatic stalls?

when no pressure is applied to the gas the call quits~ could it be the catalistic converter is plugged? bad gas? could a hole in the gas line cause this?

    when ure familiar with faults...the 2 things u should look for on this are spark and that there is fuel..if any missing u have to fix problem on this systems first. if both check ok, than recommend clean throtle body, replace air, fuel filter and do tune up, piece by piece dont get carried away.....if car has been sitting down for a good while prime suspect would be bad gas!!!!...furthermore check for vacum hose leaks.

    Timing belt slipped 1 tooth would cause low power also. as well as your other issues. Dirty Throttle Body. Egr stuck open.

    ok, from experiance, Could be your idle throttle scew is out of adjustment, you will need a tune-up. Also can stall from condensation "water" in the tank, cars will not run on water.
