What colleges can I get into?
I right now am a High School junior and I am just wondering what type of schools I could get into. My freshmen year I got a 4.0 with 3 honors classes and I played basketball and volleyball, Sophomore year I got a 4.2 with one AP, and 3 honors, basketball and volleyball again, 4 on the APEH test. I am in a few clubs, and I volunteer at my syngagogue and have been my Youth Groups president now for 3 years. This year I am taking 3 APs and one honors class and I hope to be more involved but I am not sure if I will continue playing sports(does that Matter??). Based on this information what kind of schools can I get into and what types of SAT or ACT scores do I need to get to get into a top Tier college if possible???? Thanks

There are several factors you should consider when you decide what college you want to go to 1.) Money- Do you have the money to go to a big school? A. Did your parents plan and save you money for school or B.) Are you going to receive financial aid (if eligible) 2.) What is your major? A.) Do you want to go to a really renowned school (where the pressure is on) or to a school that is still a top notch school, just a little more laid back. B.) What school is best for your particular major? 3.) Location, Location, Location - Where do YOU want to live? Are you going to stay on campus or with your parents? Most importantly, do what YOU want, not what your parents want you to do, you will be an adult and don't let them forget that it is your life and your decision. So if you want to pack up and move across the country, then do it! 4.) Do you want to take your basics somewhere cheaper and then transfer? Many people believe that you have to go to that "big college" right out of high school, but that's not true, many people save their financial aid (whether its a college fund, scholarship, or gov financial aid) and then transfer to their college of choice. This also helps you prepare. Well anyways, I hope this has helped, Good Luck!!

You probably can get into a ton easily. Look at the top tier colleges that are near you. I recommend looking at this link for the top tier colleges:
http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/coll...
The link included a TON of colleges that are all ranked, it goes to like 100 and something. It's great, and can find a college that fits you pretty well. I think you should be the one to determine which college suits you best. So I would take a look. Your transcript looks really good already as it seems with the Honors Courses and the AP's. Do really well on your SAT and your ACT and you can probably get into a top school, I'm thinking top 30 or so.
I also recommend looking at www.collegeboard.com. At collegeboard you can find out everything about the college. SAT Scores, ACT Scores, the GPA for the percentages of students.

It all depends on what school you are at now and the area you are in. My GPA wasn't high at all nor was my ACT scores, and I got into basically all of the schools I applied to. I graduated with a 3.4 and under a 20 on the ACT, not ashamed of it at all because i'm pretty much well off now. But, it all depends. Colleges are looking for people with wide spread backgrounds and what you are doing is giving yourself the opportunity to have extra curricular activities which is a great attribute to your well accomplished High School academics. I graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with my credentials from High School. If you are going to apply to Ivy League schools make sure your activities are diverse, they like to see that. Holding some sort of office is good too. But you should be fine... Be positive and know that you can get in any school if you do what you need to.

Well, for an IVY league school, you probably need at least a 1450 old SAT or 2200 new SAT, and I would say that you are fine on sports, but also, colleges look a lot at your class rank, so if your not like top 5% i might not apply to them, but there are plenty of other good schools that you could probably get into that aren't IVY league otherwise.

From my standpoint, you'll be good with any college you apply into... just make sure you have 3-4 years of language and 3 years of math, and english across the board...possibly economics.

I think you'll do fine. SAT score is going to be huge. Make sure you have a good score on that. If you have a good SAT score, it can compensate for a lot of shortcomings, not that you have many.

congrats as in now it seems that you have a great resume. look up colleges that have what courses and major you are interested in and see what scores do they want. sometimes they require you to take SAT2s subject test. all colleges require different scores so look them up . also some colleges only accepts the first SAT that you take.

Hmm depends, If you want to get a scholarship then you could probably get into a sum of good colleges but if you have the money , you can do anything you want too.
