GET IT OUT!!!!! And I would recommend soon!!! I had an IUD for 2 years and I never had so much relief as the day I got it taken out. Those things can be good for some people, but I say and hear they do more bad than good. For the first couple months I had mine, I was uncomfortable, but got used to it. I went back for my yearly exam and told the doctor what was going on and that my leg was in pain from my butt all the way down and she insited left and right that it wasn't from my IUD...she insisted maybe it was my hip or something and that I should go to the chiropractor. I HAD been going to the chiropractor....WEEKLY for this pain and it would NOT go away. So, I just kept dealing with it....trying different shoes at work and different pillows and sleeping in different positions and going to the chiropractor even more and NOTHING helped. So, I did my own research online and found millions of other people that had some of the same things I did....as I was reading thier problems, I realized I had many of the same problems, too. So, I tried calling and calling and calling her with my concerns and she NEVER called me back so I said the heck with it and when I went in for my yearly exam, now another year after I told her in the beginning about my symptoms, I asked her to remove it and she insisted my pain had nothing to do with the IUD, but I told her I didn't care and that I would never know if I kept it in and that I wanted it out, so she took it out. She finished the exam and THEN told me that ohhh.....maybe you're uterus is inflamed from the IUD. So, she had to put me on these anit-inflammatory drugs and antibiotics. The first day with it out was a little uncomfortable but it was gone by the next morning and I felt fine after that. All my symptoms were GONE! She called me a week later to ask how I was feeling and I told her I felt 100% better and she just said, oh, well, I guess sometimes it isn't what we think. I would strongly recommend you get it taken out and find a different form of birth control....it's waaaayyyyy worth it! Good Luck.

I had a friend actually have an IUD removed because of the intense, constant cramps that she experienced from it. They say cramps are a side effect but that they should only last a few days.
