How can Sen. Stevens get reelected?

How is it that Sen. Stevens can seek reelection to the legislative branch, where they vote on laws, if he is a convicted felon and felons do not have the right to vote?

Update:

I just don't see how you make laws but have the ability to even vote for yourself in an election.

Update 2:

oops, not have the ablity...

He can be reelected by receiving a plurality of the vote. The only qualifications are: 30 years of age, U.S. citizen for 7 years and live in the state from which he is elected. You can be a felon, illiterate, and a non-voter. The senate can expel him.

I starred this question because I too am interested in what in the world the Alaskan voters were thinking? Maybe that is a reflection of the political climate in AK that it is okay to be corrupt? With all the info about SP floating about, illegal gifts, trips, etc. Maybe that is the way it is done in AK? I hope you get some informative answers.

He has a blind following. Alaskans are a tight knit group and if they feel he didn't do anything wrong, regardless of what law says, they will still vote for him, like they obviously did.

Hey, it's up to the people of Alaska. Whatever, you or I think about it is irrelevant.
