Why does it have to be this way?
Why must children inherit the sins of their father?
It's not what I'm talking about.
Look at the economy, Our parents and grandparents generations bled social security dry.
Now our generation won't have any.
Our parents and grandparents genertions made enemies with other countries.
Now we have to reap the consequences.
If my mother was in debt when she dies, her debt would be pased to me.
Suffering the sins of our father means, our generation suffers from the mistakes of past generations.
Why should WE have to deal with THEIR karma.
If i did something wrong, I will take my karma, but why should I be responsable for karma that's not mine?
See what I'm getting at, it's supposed to be fod for thought.
I meant food for thought.

It doesn't have to be that way. It just requires some forward thinking.

Not to be discouraging, but you will never find an answer to that question that makes you happy.
Regarding social security and such - there is no better solution right now. And, actually, I don't think our grandparents "bled it dry" - our grandparents paid for it and received it back as they were supposed to. That's how the system was designed. It is the non-disabled couch taters and pill heads milking it rather than working and the government who ignorantly redirected the SS surplus who "bled it dry." What the government did is said and done, it can't be reversed. But everyone knows AT LEAST one person dishonestly and lazily leaching off disability payments that bleed our SS system. This isn't something from yesterday we are paying for today - this is something from today we continue to allow. Not only should our government put an end to it - we should take some personal responsibility and make sure we let the leachers know exactly how shameful and pathetic they are. We've got to quit letting them feel comfortable about dishonorably pinching our SS accounts.
Regarding their karma - again, unfortunately, the human mind tends to find no other solution *subconsciously.* Only when people take *conscious* efforts to resolve conflicts of the past is progress made. We must remember that conflicts of the past still *physically* affects people today, so of course we must resolve the issues for others to move on. Palestinians are physically affected by events that happened half a century ago. We can't just say "It wasn't us" and expect them to be okay.
I'm not sure where you live at - but in the U.S. a parents' debt is not passed to the children. Debt is most often deducted from a deceased person's estate - but just because you aren't getting as much from your mother's estate as you would have if she didn't owe anything doesn't mean her debt is your's, that you are out anything.
Keep what you're saying in mind when you say and do things today. Whether you like it or not, your children will be affected by today's decisions. Don't give them a reason to ask the same question you are.

Why do they benefit from their good deeds? Karma dear. If you commit a sin, you will get the just "deserts", and they don't have to be directly given to you. You can suffer them through your children, cause if they suffer, you suffer twice for them and yourself! Unfair? but apt, don't you think. We can handle the punishments for ourselves, but if we have to see our children suffer, we suffer more from the guilt that they are being punished for our sins, therefore, our punishment is even more severe.
