Did people forget that Obama is only half black, his mother is white?
My "point" is that a white person with the same ideas and beliefs would probaby not had been elected. He used his race to win.
Again, I have no problem with his race, it is his politics.
For those who think Obama won by a vast majoity he didnt, he had only 52% of the popular vote. He managed to win the electorial college by winning in the more populated states.

I have noticed that both blacks and whites seem to label him as african american only because he looks more black than white. it also seems like he only embraces his african side and not his white side too. no one brings up the fact that he's half white. they always just say "black president". it seems if you are anything other than white and don't look completely white your not labeled as white by any race.

Obama won by a lot because we needed him a lot. Yes, blacks needed to be shown they were able to succeed as well as whites. But also, America needed a democrat because democrats tend to improve the economy. I know that some people only vote for some stupid reason like the name or looks of the candidate, but most people vote for the political candidate who brings the best options and ideas to the table in their opinion. Obama seems to be a great man so far. He reflects the majority's beliefs (finally!)

He used his race to win... And your reasoning behind that is because a white person with the same ideas and beliefs would probably not have been elected?
Ehhhh... That makes no sense.
A lot of black people voted for Obama, but a LARGE percentage of white people had to vote for him also in order for him to win.

how did he use his race to win exactly? what advantage would saying he is 'black' have for him in the polls? if anything it would have been a disadvantage, because a lot of ignorant americans wouldn't vote for a black man out of principle.
if obama had been 100% white with the same charisma, and following a republican president with such low ratings, he would have won by an even greater margin i think.
on the other hand, if obama had been standing as a republican, he would have gotten trounced. he won because he was a democrat. plain and simple.

H didn't use his race to win. Since you are bringing this up, it's obvious that you don't like the idea of having a half Black man in office. $hit, there have been White men in office from 1749-2008, I think it's long overdue. And by the way, did you ever complain about there only being White presidents for 200+ years? I'm sure you can come up with every other reason under the sky why that was okay.
And let me be the one to tell you, that there have been several other Blacks that ran for president and haven't won, do you think they used their race to lose?

He is a politician those kinda people do what they gotta do to win nothing wrong with that in this case.
And saying he is "black" not only makes votes but it also gives "black" people something that they can use as a measure of "black" peoples success... eventhough he is biracial and nothin else. His Kenyan side have absolutely nothing to do with black americans.
i wonder when people will start to see biracials as biracials.

If you believe Obama won because he is half Black you are a fool.

that proves that even though america claims not to be racist they dwell on the fact that he is even part black(not that it isnot great to have change)but if some of americans were not racist they would just say thtat he were a good president and not a good black president

Nope, but if we did, we always have the good ole supremely race-conscious folks on Yahoo Answers to remind us.
