What happened to my back arrow in Firefox?
The recent Firefox 3.0.4 upgrade slowed my internet access so, I downgraded back to v. 2.0.0.8 It's installed and running but now I no longer have a page back arrow or a page forward arrow. Where did they go? How do I get them back?
I've been on the Mozilla Firefox site searching for the answer. I found one related question on the forum site but when I click on it to open up the thread, I'm not allowed to access. I don't know why that is, either.
So, any informed suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Problem solved! And boy, do I feel foolish. I went to View > Toolbars > Customize and the icons were there. All I had to do was drag and drop them back into the navigation bar. How simple.
There are keyboard and mouse shortcuts for page back and page forward. For example, I was using [Alt+⇦] for page back. With mouse, press Shift and scroll back.

I really don't know. I've never had that problem.
This is not a solution per se, but you might want to look into downloading FireGestures. It's a Firefox add on that I find really useful. You associate different mouse moves with different actions. So, for instance - if I want to go back a page I hold down the right mouse button and move my mouse to the left. If I want to go forward a page I hold down the the right mouse button and move the mouse right.
Those are the main ones I use but you can create your own gestures to do things such as open a new window, open a new tab, return to home page, etc.
I began using it when I bought a new mouse that didn't have forward and back buttons on it (my previous mouse did and I got quite used to them). I'm the definition of lazy when it comes to this but I really find it easier to move my mouse a fraction of an inch while holding down the right button rather than moving my mouse to the top of the page and clicking forward or back, hehe.
If you can't find a solution to your missing back button, FireGestures could be a useful tool.

Good luck finding the answer :)

It's probably the skin of Firefox you're using. Some skins omit the back/forward button.
