The Next Stockton and Malone Duo?

Yesterday during the Jazz game, a couple of my friends and i debated about whether the Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer duo is the same as the John Stockton and Karl Malone duo... well they both play the same postion, similar skills, and they were both coached by Sloan....

What do you think??

Nope. I think that Williams has the potential to be as good if not better than Stockton was, but Boozer is way too far from Malone for there even to be a comparison. I mean we are talking about arguably the best pure power forward to ever play the game. Stockton was great at PG but there are way too many other PG's that could be called better (and with good reason) Magic is just one.

I think that Boozer has the outside shot that Malone had, but Malone also had the ability in the paint to dominate against those he played against. Boozer doesn't he already gets pushed around down there by some of the bigger PF in the league. Also something that is often overlooked, is that Malone may have been the best passing PF ever. Boozer has a hard time seeing those things. He get the ball in the paint and he is focused on scoring much more than Malone.

All in all I think that the Jazz need to look at what trade options are out there for Booz because I don't think he will resign with the Jazz. I mean he left the Cavs because he didn't want to play in LBJ's shadow, and now he is in DWill's shadow. He wants to go and be the man. If you pass up the chance to stay and play with King James...you will pass up the chance to play with DWill.

Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer will never be the next Stockton, Malone duo.

I think the similarities are there but the fact is that NBA teams due to salary caps and also due to coaching merry go rounds don't keep players for the length of time that Stockton and Malone were with the Jazz. It doesn't really occur in any sport anymore. Money and internal politics ruin every team. But yes they are an awesome pair to watch and I hope I am wrong with what I said and that they hang out on the Jazz for the duration of their careers...

i do not think that Deron is similar to Stockton. There are some similarities b/w Boozer and Malone but they are mostly negative other than their strength around the basket. In turn, Boozer could have been Lebron's Scottie Pippen but we will never know.

I think chris PAul is more like Stockton and Boozer is a lot like Malone. So if you switch the 2 then u have the most similar duo to stockton malone
