Do you think this poem accurately reflects the way Christ would be viewed in today's society?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_M79oHouqk

Really though, listen to it. Do you think that's what would happen if Christ came back today?

Update:

Okay, this is not a commentary on Jesus, it's a commentary on today's society, in case you didn't catch that.

I don't think many of you did, if you even listened to the damn thing.

Update 2:

Look: This is not about what Jesus will do when he comes back. This is about how he would be received by our society, this has nothing to do with what's in the Bible.

Do you guys really not understand literature at all?

the words seem to say that he would be despised & rejected of men, hmmm...I like her interpretation of the bible as literature. i would think some ppl would get upset about the profanity, but i believe it's appropriate in all forms of artistic expression.

regarding today's society...it depends on a person's viewpoint. i've met some pollyanna's who say even the most horrible slums simply 'do not exist' because they themselves believe in a beautiful world of all positivity & light and the only thing the disenfranchised must do is 'believe it will be better. & it will'.

however, if they were firmly grounded in reality I think ppl would be absolutely human in every aspect. our society has some 'unattractive' traits that come forth when it's time for the living to commence..

I think that they need to take another look at the Bible and obey His words.

Edit: You need to post this in the literature section then. If you are talking about Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, all of His words will come to pass. Everything that He said was not right then, will not be right now or at any time in the future.

glass half empty viewpoint. how about

    long-haired radical socialist Jew

Well Jesus was a homeless lad With an unwed mother and an absent dad And I really don't think he would have gotten that far If Newt, Pat and Jesse had followed that star Refrain: So let's all sing out praises to That long-haired radical socialist Jew When Jesus taught the people he Would never charge a tuition fee He just took some fishes and some bread And made up free school lunches instead So let's all sing out praises to.... He healed the blind and made them see He brought the lame folks to their feet Rich and poor, any time, anywhere Just pioneering that free health care So let's all sing out praises to.... Jesus hung with a low-life crowd But those working stiffs sure did him proud Some were murderers, thieves and whores But at least they didn't do it as legislators So let's all sing out praises to.... Jesus lived in troubled times the religious right was on the rise Oh what could have saved him from his terrible fate? Separation of church and state. So let's all sing out praises to....Sometimes I fall into deep despair When I hear those hypocrites on the air But every Sunday gives me hope When pastor, deacon, priest, and pope Are all singing out their praises to Some long-haired radical socialist Jew. They're singing out their praises to..oooo..oooo..Some long-haired radical socialist Jew.

widely speaking i could bypass with #3, Jim. i think of that on the only hand, we can obtain His desire by using cooperating along with his application of conforming us to easily like His Son (Ro 8), our potential to cooperate and certainly our lifestyles is a present day from Him. Our faith isn't of ourselves, lest absolutely everyone ought to boast. all of it comes from Him. sure, we can benefit His approval as we improve into the mature and effective grownup babies He needs us to be; the brethren of Jesus the Messiah. we've the liberty and the privilege to have interplay our wills along with his with a view to head in direction of this objective. i think of this is very important to observe, however, that approval and love are no longer an identical factor. He approves human beings (our habit) whilst we behave in a loving way, consistent along with his character and preparation. He loves us (and He loves the worldwide; he isn't a respecter of one individual over yet another) even on an identical time as we are yet His enemies, for it grew to become into then that Christ died for us. If we were obedient babies already, there could have been no ought to shop us from sin and death.

When Jesus returns he will come to judge the living and the dead. Pray that you have been loyal enough to God that your judgment will gain you the reward of heaven.

Everything is already explained for you in the Bible, you don't need to ask these type of questions in this forum.

That's a really eloquent poem. Very emotional and with realistic concepts of how his so called followers in society would actually react if Jesus came back.

He will Judge! And you on the microphone what are you doing about all these things? Of Course nothing. Jesus died for us and now He waits to see if we will do the same for our brothers. But just judging the world is the worst.

Don't judge so that you will not be judged. In the same way you judge , you will be judged by Him. (Matthew)

Jesus tells us what He will do when He comes back. Why do people have to believe others when it has to do with someone else? Can I say what you will do tomorrow? Probably you can't either. So please show respect to Jesus because when He comes I believe what he said He will do. Judge us!

No, he would be viewed as a lunny who thinks he is a God, just like David Koresh.
