So, the Yanks got...?

We've got Texiera so....

Reactions? Thoughts? And don't tell me the Yankees buy talent because I will eat you... seriously. That's what baseball is! You buy players to play for you! So yeah, thoughts anyone?

Update:

Jason R:

You're right, sorry... I just get so annoyed with all the haters who keep attacking the Yankees for signing people. I'm the first person to list the talents from the farm system!

Update 2:

Florida Fan:

Then I'll be happy as one of the 10,000 when you stop stereotyping us real fans...

Update 3:

I agree about Abreu --- I wish we had recovered him. I'm really going to miss him next year! He's definitely better than Swisher...

He will help - of all the Yankee signings this offseason, I think this is the first upgrade.

    1. Lose Mussina, sign CC: 20 games gone, 20 games gained

    2. AJ Burnett: another injury plagued starter. He might help, but I doubt it. Just replaces another injury plagued starter.

    3. Lose Abreu, pick up Swisher: this was a loss, Abreu is the better player

    4. Lose Giambi, sign Tex: That's a gain.

I think overall, the Yankees have improved by a few wins but they still have some holes. It should be a great race in the AL East next year.

Anything less than winning a division will not be a success for the Yankees this year. As a Red Sox fan they added what they needed. I'll put my input for all three new additions. C.C. will be like A-Rod, remarkable season, but will choke in the post season, as he has before. He'll only be good for a few years and then wear down to nothing and then the Yankees will be stuck with that big contract for an average pitcher. Burnett, he gets injured every year and you may get 15 starts with him being healthy and the rest he'll be on the DL. As for Texiera, I did not see that coming, thought he was either going to the Red Sox or Nationals. He is a good player, and is the one person of the three that will earn his money. I still think it'll be close between the Sox and Yanks this year, no way it's going to be a blow out. As for Tex going to the Yanks, it may happen but you're going to have his lack of offense added to your roster.

The Yankees also bought 4 Million More Fans

Face it, The Yankees may be good but have 10,000 fans

the other 200 Million Are Bandwagon

If the Yankees had a $60 Mil Payroll and an 82-80 Record you wouldn't see as many fans

I expect and feel owed it. Hear me out...

As a season ticket holder, I'm paying into them over $100 a seat for rather mediocre seats, the equivalent price would get me near the dug outs in most other parks. What I'm getting at, is that a pay a premium to be a fan of the Yankees and Yankee revenue is absurd. The Yankee revenue is literally 70% more than any other team in baseball (including the other so called big market teams, LA, Boston, meets). Going to the new stadium Yankee revenue is predicted to be doubles that of other teams. So if my team is taking in over 700 million, it's only fair those fat cats put a large chunk of it back out onto the field, to that end I do not feel bad about it, for even a second

They pay more in luxury taxes that go to other teams than the royals marlins pay for their entire salary! They make so much money from tickets (every game sold out) and merchandise (the Yankee hat is the #1 sold hat in the world) than they even spend on players. They won 26 titles which is the most out of any sports team in the world. its not like they have a unbelievably rich guy owner. Steinbrenner gained wealth form the Yankees, sure he was no poor man but he wasn't bill gates. They have earned this respect and in my opinion there should be a cap on contracts not teams

The Yankees got Sabathia and Burnett, and I started jumping off walls. When they got Swisher I was happy. If we get Tex or Manny we'll be the dream team!

Yankees will = Last years Tigers

Baseball is NOT about buying talent.

Simple, if you don't win a ship you're the most laughable franchise in Major League Sports.

Maybe that's what it is now, but I'm old enough to remember when it was more about the game and less about the money...
