When greeting someone, do you give them a handshake or a hug?
or do you not like anyone in your personal space?

It depends on who it is. Usually, someone I'm just meeting for the first time gets a handshake. Someone I already know gets nothing (just a verbal "hi" and occasionally a hug).
I don't like people in my personal space and I'm not the touchy feely type. If I give a hug, It's usually because someone initiates it or asks me for one.

It really depends on the person.
Friend- hug
Family- hug
A family member I have never met before- handshake then hug
someone I have never seen in my life that looks suspicious- handshake then "Alright you can leave now." while holding a small weapon behind my back
A friends friend I have never met before- handshake

It depends If I know you and actually consider you a freind (not an easy goal for most) I will hug some but I dont like being touched alot so usually its a handshake

I usually say 'How are you?'. I only shake hands the first time I meet someone. I personally do not like to hug anyone except very close family and friends.
But I guess it also depends on where you are located. I am an Asian student in the UK and it seems people here like to hug. Or at least it seems like I know a lot of 'huggers'.

My personal space is just as precious to me as it is to the person I am greeting. I wouldn't go into their personal space unless invited or someone I have known since almost forever. A handshake is trading enough germs with each other! lol ♥

I usually do the handshake, I get creeped out if they give me a hug and I don't know them

Hug

Usually neither unless I'm meeting them for the first time. I've had a difficult time having anyone in my personal space since my divorce many years ago. I am over the divorce-that is a remnant.
