I feel your pain; I had this same problem. My computer didn't recognize my iPod and no files I moved would be recognized. I finally broke down, downloaded free iTunes, moved the songs to there, and then moved the files by (a) plugging in the new iPod and setting preferences to MANUAL instead of auto-sync;(b) get the tunes from iTunes by going to Start>My Music>iTunes>Music. You need to select each file and drag-drop it into your new iPod window separately; I have not been able to simply grab the music file and drag the whole thing over. Let us know if there's an easier way, but knowing Apple, there isn't....good luck!

they have to be in .MP3 format
right click on the song and does it say.WMA or .MP3
if .WMA then you need to convert the music
there are many free programs like
any audio converter
