Fhotoace is always blowing smoke about the number of lenses that Nikon has available. They may indeed have a larger list than any other company, but the truth is that few casual photographers will need, or even want, more than four of them at the most. I buy used cameras day in and day out and the most I have ever seen brought in were three lenses with a camera.
The number of lenses on the market is of nominal value, all of the manufacturers have the lenses that you would be looking for unless you turn professional and then need specialized lenses.
The Sony is an excellent camera and Sony has introduced a new full frame digital camera. It has a bank of lenses from Minolta, an excellent lens selection, that will fit virtually every need that you will ever have.

Both these cameras are good. The only big difference is in Image stabilization. If you want to save money on buying lenses with IS in the future go with Sony alpha DSLR-A300K. I myself tested this camera. I've co-worker of mine at Boeing Canada & ask me to teach how to use his Sony camera and I've taken lots of pictures with it. The photos turned out to be excellent. Honestly, I would highly recommend it especially for photographers who take pictures indoors or night photography. It's a big help with a camera that have a IS in the Body.
You didn't mention if you're planning to go professional. But anyway I've a friend who is a new professional photographer and he is happy with his Sony DSLR Camera. I would say go Sony you wouldn't regret. I hope this help. Try to visit my new Blog for more Photography Tips.
Thank you.
