is it possible to recover photos deleted from a memory card in my digital camera ?

I took many photos with my digital camera that had a new 4 gig memory card in it . I did not delete them but I scrolled through the photos and I know they were there . However when I removed the card and inserted it into my computer . The photos taken were gone . I need to know if they can be recovered as they are holiday pictures and are very important to me and my family

I have meet a lot of people asking similar question. The answer is absolutely Yes. You can always recover the lost photos from your digital camera even you have formatted the device. Formatting won't make the data in your memory card erased permanently. The pictures you formatted are still in the disk of your memory card, just not accessible right now.

The best way to recover them back is trying some photo recovery programs. A nice one is Asoftech Photo Recovery that helped me before.

    http://www.asoftech.com/articles/how-to-recover-de...

This program can deep scan to find your lost photos first and then perform recovery with nice quality. But before your photos are recovered, please don't take more photos in case your lost photo data are overwritten.

Here is the steps you may refer while recover your photos from your camera memory card.

    1. Download and install asoftech photo recovery program on your computer.

    2. With your memory card inserted, Under "My Computer", note the drive letter assigned to your camera's memory card (usually G: or H:).

    3. Start the photo recovery program and select the drive letter that assigned to camera memory card, click "Start".

    4. Now the scanning process will start automatically to deep look for the lost pictures. You will then get a list of all recoverable ones. Check if all your pictures are there.

    5. Select the pictures you want and click "Next", and you can get back lost photos from camera successfully.

If you can plug you memory card into a computer, then yes, it MIGHT be possible. Step 1: Stop using the card IMMEDIATELY. Step 2: Install Undelete or a similar program. Make sure you have adequate virus/spyware/malware protection. Step 3: Use undelete to scan the memory card. Restore the available files (you'll probably have to restore all of the ones you can see, because cameras name them with serial numbers.) (This will only work if A. The files are of a type recognized by the recovery program and B. The file in question hasn't already overwritten) You will need Admin privileges. I have used Undelete PLUS for a while now. It's free, and I haven't had any problems with it.

Maybe the memory card wasn't in the camera properly so the pictures are stuck in the camera. This happened to my sister when we went to Hawaii.

yeah, you need to get a a s s magnet and run around and try to catch all the pictures you deleted in the exact same spot as you deleted them at. Then you need to buy yourself a pair of polarized sunglasses so you can see the pictures you are trying to catch floating around in the air.

The rest of the photos may be on the internal memory on the camera.

So all you have to do is switch to internal memory if that is the case.

Unlike computers or servers, digital cameras don't cache or back up any files, so no.
