I'm looking for a Home Theater system, am I being too particular?
I enjoy a good sounding theater and I want the same for my home. Just when I think I found the perfect system, I find some flaws.
This is what I'm looking for:
1) A well known brand name, Phillips, Sanyo, PANASONIC, etc...
2) 5.1 system
3) With a tuner AM/FM good, DVD good, not necessary
4) Active or powered sub woofer
5) I don't want the speakers to be hard wired, in case I need to extend the distance or rout them in odd areas This could be optional.
6) 1000 watts
7) Oh yeah, under $300.00
The 1000 watts, 5.1 and a active sub woofer top the list as really want, price is important too.
If anyone knows any that fit my description, tell me. If anyone owns a system they are truly happy with, tell me the Make and model.

the cost is going to be the main issue but do a web search for all possible HTIBs (Home Theater in a Box system) to see if any out there do meet your requirments. But for under $300, I highly doubt it.

No sounds great- looking for the same, esp. not wired! Do not want to deal with the wires and carpet! Have bought a few but not the way you or I want so took them back.
