clutch wont pull. stuck engaged.1980 xr200?
bike has sat for many years untouched. clutch will not pull. stuck engaged. bike used to run fine and the clutch worked fine when parked i rode it alot and never had a problem. it is stuck engaged now. what do i need to do to unstick it ?

the clutch cable is fine it is free, slides fine. the lever on the tranny for the clutch will not move very far. stuck

You need to get PB Penetrant in the discs which will break up the junk in there, then after a few hours you may also spray in some brake cleaner to clear out the junk.
Assuming you have disconnected the cable this should work, along with some light tapping on the parts.
If the cable is still connected it's likely that it's the cable that has stuck in the plastic sleeve, so you'd want to spray pb down that line or just disconnect the line to check and see if you can move the clutch manually (this takes about 100+ lbs of torque). Careful not to break that.

Disconnect the cable and see if the clutch yoke will move. If it does the cables shot, if not the clutch basket needs to come out and be freed up.Good luck.

there's a spring on the pedal assembly under the sprint, it may possibily be broken or out of its place. there is likewise a threat of the equipment being completely hydraulic and the hydraulic equipment could have a significant leak.
