What do you think of the filipino version of 'Twilight'?

'OME!

Tweenies all over are outraged over news of a Filipino version of Twilight for television set to begin production soon.

Actors Rayver Cruz and Shaina Magdayao will be portraying Edward and Isabella, respectively, in the ABS-CBN production which will treat the vampire love story as "drama, romance, and fantasy."

It will be directed by Cathy Garcia Molina and is scheduled to begin filming sometime in February, in both the Philippines and abroad.

The news comes as an upheaval to Twilighters across the internet, who have started an online petition to halt production on Takipsilim because it will "ruin the real Twilight."

Oh don't worry, the American money-grubbing sequel is already working on that! ' -- perezhilton.com

I think its disgusting and unoriginal! How can Stephanie Meyer agree to this? I myself am a filipino and am weirded out by this. My country are such copy caters. =[ It's sort of embarrassing, now. I have huge pride in my country but Carmon!

I want to hear your opinions!

I am a Filipino myself and I think that the alleged Filipino version of Twilight so called "Takipsilim" is a big disaster. I am absolutely a huge fan of Twilight and many people living here in the Philippines like it too but I just can't picture out a Filipino tv series of it. I mean come on, we understand english perfectly well so we don't need an insulting rip-off. It will just ruin the wonderful phrases mentioned in the original movie/book. I also think that the actors/actresses won't give the proper justice that Twilight and Stephenie Meyer deserves. Another point, the Twilight movie isn't good enough. How much more can a tv series be? I hope that ABS-CBN will find something original to prevent Filipinos from further embarassment.

In a way this Filipino version of Twilight has offended me. It's bad enough to think of it but what's worst is the racist remarks that other people have said. Can't they understand that most ,if not all, Filipinos also don't like this idea? And what's with Filipino-Americans claiming that they have Filipino blood but can't even spell "Filipino" correctly? Philippino, Fillipino, Filippino. What's with that?....

ABS-CBN should not continue with this. It's causing too much commotion already. And it should not be continued. NO WAY!!!! Filipinos know better than that.

well for me, TAKIPSILIM should be stopped or else we should BOYCOTT the show when it airs...i know some people don't understand why we Twilight fans are getting annoyed with the news, maybe they don't know the meaning of being a FAN. As a fan I don't want Twilight to be ruined by anyone. Okay it is just a book, but knowing ABS, i'm sure they will change the story and make it really really SUCKS!!! And Rayver Cruz, he don't deserve the play Edward Cullen! He is very very miles away to Robert Pattinson, also Shaina Magdayao who will play Bella Swan. Takipsilim is one thing that we Filipinos should not be proud of. TAKIPSILIM SUCKS!! ABS-CBN SUCKS!! I already signed in the petition, hopefully the petition works and ABS-CBN will back out on the project...

Uh-oh. They are exploiting Twilight. I mean, why would she agree to this? Twilight is something that should be enjoyed in moderation, like chocolate, because if you have too much, you go hyper. And, I do NOT want to see the Filipino version of it, because then I'll have to see the original movie again! Haha, but this is ludicrous. Just ludicrous.

  • i think the american one is bad enough.
