Is blind faith a good or bad thing?

Christian Faith is based on facts not blind faith.

It can go both ways really. Blind faith in something can help someone to live a better life in certain ways. And living a good life is always a great thing. But in a situation such as a loved one needing certain medical treatment, but your faith says that it is wrong to do so, I see that as a bad thing. That could cause a needless death that could have been avoided. I like this question though because it can show all the different views that people have on the question.

It is bad because the person whom is in the faith blindly is not believing in it fully. Such as a story in christianity. God and the Devil were have a sorta competition to see if Man was really faithful so God Found this man (name escapes me) and puts him through four challenges Leprosy, Those bugs that fly and eat things, something else that was quite bad, and the death of his first born son. all these things happened the man was poor, sad, and lonely, but he still prayed to God his Lord and so God won Yay!. But any way people who go into the religion blindly could be lost to the Devil on a bet that Man is Righteous and believes that God will see them through no matter what.

Blind faith is a very poor way to live one's live, because only questioning and searching can separate the truth from the lies. Any school of thought, any idea, that prohibits or punishes questioning and queries for proof is automatically suspect, because our beliefs are often shaped by what we would like to be true rather than what is true.

I think blind faith is a very unevolved and nearly untouched faith. For that reason, I think it is a bad thing. Operating on blind faith is NOT having a relationship with God. When you have a relationship, there are many facets to it and blindness is not one of them.

Now who said it was blind? If someone wants to make a decision based on faith, they can be successful just as long as some doubter and skeptical person is not present being used of the devil to stop it.

Blind faith is alright, it is when you open your mouth to teach others with the blind faith you have, that is why the gospel was given to teach, it teaches others of the fruits of the spirit, the good things of and towards mankind, it is to believe without seeing, built into the Heart.

Depends on what kind of faith...

Faith in peace, faith in humanity- good.

Faith in Xenu, faith in the Third Reich- bad.

So yeah, blind faith always leads to no good.

Blind faith is dangerous.

Blind faith is horrible and dangerous.
