Do Porcupines roll into balls?

Do porcupines roll into balls as part of self defense? Just wondering..

    No, they puff up like an angry cat and make all quills stand on end.

    Hedgehogs curl up into spiny little balls.

    I get porcupines on the property all the time,never seen one

    roll into a ball.

    even having to shoe them from the porch now and then.

    it relatively is from Farm mag's perfect-Ever Recipes cookbook and is relatively hassle-free and massive. Porcupine Meatballs a million a million/2 lbs. floor pork a million/2 cup frequently happening rice 2/3 cup milk a million tablespoon. instantaneous minced onion or a million medium onion, chopped a million a million/2 teaspoon salt a million/4 teaspoon pepper a million (10ounce) can condensed tomato soup 3/4 cup water integrate floor pork, rice, milk, onion, salt and pepper in bowl. blend gently, yet properly. Drop rounded tablespoons of blend into 13x9x2 inch baking pan. integrate soup and water in bowl: blend properly. Pour over meatballs. conceal baking pan tightly with aluminum foil. Bake in 350* oven a million hour or till warm and bubbly. Makes 6-8 servings.

    Depends on the species. Most do, in that they roll into a "protective" posture that puts their quills outward...

    The way a preditor get "at" a poupine is to get at his soft underbelly, which he tries to protect. It is more generally "hunkering" down and grabbing some vegitation to hold onto, rather tha just "folling" into a ball.
