What are Tenant Rights regarding Panama City Beach, Florida Evictions.?
Help. Due to reasons and hardships out of our control = death, seasonal layoffs ect, We are being evicted due to our inability to pay.We are tying to get out but he served us an eviction summons on Dec 23rd. We have a small baby. IT states we have 5 days which due to holidays and weekend this will be on Wed. We are not dead beats. We barely have food right now and christmas was strictly for the kids and all from the Dollar store. My sister stated that they can show up on our door step with a cop on Thursday and throw us out in the street in GA. Others say Florida law states that it takes 90 days before they can actually LOCK us out and take everything. We only need a week. They claim they gave us a notice on Dec 8th but I swear they didnt. The copy in the paper work has no signature to prove so... I have searched and searched but I canbt find anything in the terms of our rights. Can anyone tell me..... are we going to be physically homeless with an infant by thursday morning? The Landlord refuses to return our calls.
I am so sorry ....Thank you But...Please do not give websites unless it is in normal persons terms. I have seen them all. All I know is that we cant pay and were served with 5 days get out or pay Court (Eviction Summons)... I am not comprehending any of it. I am feeling so desperate terrified and generally uneducated. Can anyone explain it clearly. I just need to know can we push it a few days Just to the weekend (past the holiday)....more or can they be on our doorstep with a cop to toss us into the street 12am Thursday? We are not trying to get a free ride we are in the process of trying to raise the money but can not accomplish this in alotted time. So we are trying to get our affairs in order to go to families with the baby and try to settle this in the legal proceedings to keep our credit clear. The Landlord is a ruthless lawyer and will not discuss any options.
