The Suns won't do it for the simple fact that teams are not willing to trade a player of Amare's calibur to a team in the same division....especially to the rival Lakers....not to mention from a basketball standpoint this doesnt make much sense....besides I have a hard time envisioning Amare in the scheme of the triangle...which is a very complex offense to learn......and then who do you give up?....Gasol right now fits perfectly with Kobe, Bynum is a good center that compliments Gasol, Odom for Stoudemire would be a joke..(c'mon you don't think the Suns would fall for that)....

No, because they really don't stand to gain anything. Salary and personnel-wise, Pau Gasol for Amare works. But Amare is better and much younger--Phoenix isn't dumb enough to do that. So then what else does LA throw in to make it work? A first round draft pick? Trevor Ariza?

Either the trade ends up a wash, or LA is forced to give up more than Amare's worth. Either way, there's not much motivation to do a deal that won't significantly benefit the club, and I don't know how such a swap could be considered a significant improvement.

Now, if Phoenix settled for Odom+others, then hell yeah. But again, Phoenix isn't dumb enough to do that. With Nash on the decline, Amare is their franchise player, while Pau Gasol is essentially a role player.

What makes you think the Suns would trade Amare Stoudemire to the Lakers?

    Good Luck

Amare can score the ball extra, he can incredibly much rebound as much as Pau Gasol. yet once you have Kobe on your team, he is going to do the main artwork, Amare does the main artwork for his team, so as that's the reason Amare Stoudemire is larger than Pau Gasol. additionally you could look at tonights' matchup via fact pau gasol performs amare this evening. Amare may be the extra beneficial midsection.

    WHAT????

Unless...the Lakers give up Kobe....there is no way the Lakers will be able to acquire Amare...

So no...I dont want the Lakers to unload their whole team just for Amare....

With Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum, why would they need Amare? They would probably have to give up a big name, like Kobe.

as good as he is they don't need him. they're already really solid at center and pf, and the chemistry would be changed. also it takes time to learn the triangle scheme.

trade Odom for a good point guard....

It won't happen. They don't have that much money to keep him and thhey would need to give up a lot.
