i want to insert keypresses into a file, but how?

There's no such thing - there are characters in a file, but not keypresses. (A keypress is something that happens, a file is something that is.)
If you want to make a program press keys, how you do it depends on whether you want it to press keys in itself, or in a different program (like your program pressing keys in Notepad).
