club volleyball a no go?

i love vball...its my life..or was my life. i made 2 club teams this season a month ago but my mom didnt wanna pay for it. so i didnt play club...i was the setter for my team and i did so well at the tryouts it was unbelieveable! anyways, im starting to get jealous of a girl who made the same school team as me and the same club team. she actually got moved up to the higher team too! im 13 and 8th grader so i play for a middle school team. so the varsity needs a libero next year cuz theirs is graduating and the girl who im jealous of wants to take place on the varsity! she was our libero and im so mad at my parents cuz i wanted this so badly...now i dont even think ill make the jv team cuz there are only like 4-5 spots open and we have about 9 8th graders on our team! idk wat to do..im afriad ill lose my vball skills and touch by tryouts next august..wat should i do? and sitting out for club this season has made me even more depressed

Update:

my parents do have the money. they just think 1.7k is a waste on volleyball eespecilly wen im not tryin out for varsity next year

Update 2:

plus, i cant play because thyve already started!

maybe you can compromise for the pay.

maybe you can tell your parents that you will work hard to deserve it.

    then prove it to them!

    impress them.

maybe you can do that by having al straight A's in school.

    make it your goal.

    your inspiration.

    work hard for it.

then when your parents think you deserve it.

    ask them again.

    if they said no.

    keep doing what your doing.

    be consistent.

    then ask them again.

    don't give up.

    have a goal.

    then achieve it.

    hope i helped.

I love vball too! I am sorry your parents don't have the money. Do you have enough time and/or people to organize a fundraiser for you? Maybe a car wash or wherever you live, cutting grass, shoveling snow, dog walking or sitting, baby sitter or anything else you can do. Don't be so negative. Make it work and do your best and see what happens. You won't lose your volleyball skills . Just keep practicing and get some friends together as some parks (at least here) have volleyball courts. Try out and keep making money by doing odd jobs. Never give up. I played volleyball but in the Rec Dept. for over 30 years and I can no longer play due to my ailing health. I also need a 3rd knee surgery.

Talk to your school counselor and see what you could do in school to raise funds or if you can. The counselor might be able to guide you or even the coach. Let the coach know how much the sport means to you and you will work very hard to be an asset to the team. Good luck! Don't hate. It is unproductive and unsportsmanlike. 4-5 spots out of 9 are good odds.

Do not give up on club just because they have started. Contact the 2 clubs to see if they still have an opening at your position. They may need someone still even though it may be at a lower team that you made at the tryouts.

Talk with your parents. See if they will pay most of the bill if you help out. That will show your dedication. If one of the clubs still has an opening, talk with that club to see if they have any fundraising ideas for you. The club I work with has some optional ideas to help people raise money. This month, they have the Entertainment books for people to sell if they want. Next month, there will be something else to sell. They also have tons of little odds and ends type jobs that can always use some outside help. Copies and filing. I also use people as "runners" for the tournaments. They make trips to the courts to retrieve the scoresheets for me to post. (I figured out that I walked 12 1/2 miles collecting scoresheets for one tournament. It is great to have someone else doing that walking.)

If you show your parents that you are really dedicated to club volleyball and you are willing to work to help out, they may decide to let you play club.

First see if you are allowed to do two clubs. If you can't maybe you could do you one club this year and the other club next year. If you don't want to do that, maybe you could find another place to play the sports, so they don't interfere with one another. Good Luck!!

try to find an area league, and it doesnt matter that they have already started, well maybe but you can try and see if any teams will allow you to just practice with them. And area team is much less, but the teams arent as good. . .but that doesnt really matter. For high school you have such a long time to even think about those tryouts, don't sweat it!

Ask the club for a scholarship.

If you are really good...they will definently agree....

Thats what happened to me...&im a libero too!!

16-1s were gonna go to JO's

omg i am like exacly in your position right now and im a libero!!!! i skipped club b/c it is super expensive, what you need to do is practice like everyday w/ someone so you don't get rusty (like pepper or sumthin) and over the summer do vb camps they aren't that expensive good luck

if you can make the club team i suggest you play. making club means you actually have skills and should pursuit that goal. good luck
