Using Rock Band 1 instruments with Rock Band 2?

Is it really a hassle to play the second game with the older instruments from the first game? Does it take away from the experience at all?

(I want to save money by buying the rock band 1 set and just the disc for rock band 2)

No, that is why they sell rock band 2 by itself because you can use the rock band 1 instruments with rock band 2. There is no hassle at all.

it's the same setup...they say that the rock band 2 drum is more enhanced..like they made the pad less quieter and the pedal is metal now?? but it's the same in the end..

No difference at all except the drums, they're quieter.
