How do you rank up in the new Gears of War 2 video game?

I have no idea and everyone else I know is just as clueless.

I hear a different thing every day while I'm online...keep winning, win wing-man, improve your kill to death ratio, break 10,000 points, finish the match without dying, finish the match without dying and at the top of your team.......please help!

    Win, win, win! Try to win more then lose, and always think outside the box!

    Just keep winning... the system works just like the ELO rating system for chess... do a google search if you want to know how it works.
