Is a male or female Morkie better?
I am trying to convince my mom to get a dog, and when i showed her a Morkie, she fell in love, but where I live they only have males, she only wants a female, we plan to "fix" the dog if we get a male. So, does it make a difference if we a get a male and "fix" it, or if we get a female?
Which is better, and why?
What else do you have to say about Morkies.
Websites, with information, would be great thanks.

Well, there's no such thing, so... Male or female really doesn't matter, anyway. You should fix the dog regardless of whether you get a male or a female. Fixing dogs prevents them from adding to the pet overpopulation and has a lot of health and behavioral benefits.
Fixing a male dog prevents testicular cancer and cuts down on behaviors like wandering (in search of a mate), aggression, and marking. Fixing a female dog prevents uterine and ovarian cancer and pyometra (uterine infection) as well as cutting down the chances of mammary gland cancer.
But, none of this changes the fact that there is no such breed as a 'Morkie'. They are mutts.
Why would you pay for a mutt from a breeder? Only backyard breeders breed mutts and then tack fancy 'designer dog' names onto them as if they were an actual breed. Please don't support these irresponsible breeders by lining their pockets with your money. If you want a mixed breed/mutt look no further than your local shelter! Instead of getting scammed, you can adopt a mix (possibly even the type you were looking for!) for far cheaper... and save a life doing so.

A morkie is not a breed. That's a fancy name for MUTT. Since they aren't a breed, but a hybrid, there is no reliable info. about them. No legit. websites, etc. Also, good luck finding one. A reliable breeder who shows their dogs wouldn't ever breed one. You might find one at the shelter, though. There are many abandoned "designer" dogs.

There is no such "breed" - its a mutt, mixed breed dog and you cannot predict its size, what it will look like, its personality or anything else.
If you want that type of mix, go to the shelter and adopt one that you can see what it really looks like and acts. And doesn't matter if you get male or female - get him/her neutered and spayed and do not allow the mutt to be breeding anything.

there's no such thing as a "morkie".. its just a mutt.
Get whatever you find at the local shelter.. it doesnt matter if its a male or female... as long as its spayed/neutered, and you adopted instead of buying from a breeder.

Shelters should have both sexes available, just search www.petfinder.com. I'm assuming you wouldn't want to BUY a designer mutt for obscene amounts of money....right? That would just be stupid!
