Virusus are bad news. To get rid of the virus, I would restore your computer to the factory setting. This is the procedure for a Gateway/E-Machines, but it could be similar for you:

    1. Copy all your own files and folders to an external storage (Disc, USB stick even SD card - 1 GByte capacity should be ample - even 512 MB)

    2. Shut the PC off

    3. Turn the PC back on and keep hitting the F8 key repeatedly until the Advanced Boot Option Screen appears

    4. Click "Repair Your Computer" –if you are not already on it, use the up and down arrows to maneuver to it and then press ENTER

    5. Next you have to pick your country and click OK

    6. On the "System Recovery Options Screen" click "Restore Application" (last option)

    7. Follow the on-screen instructions

    8. When prompted, click on "Full Factory Recovery"

    9. Click "Next"

    10. Click "Yes"

    11. Go and have a cup of coffee - don't touch anything - for a while it seems like nothing is happening

    12. After many minutes, recovery will complete and you click "Finish"

Here are some other things to keep your computer running well after you get rid of the virus:

Get and Anti-virus. Try Norton, they are popular and reputable.

Clean your registry. Your registry holds all the information regarding updates, installs, uninstalls etc. so this needs to be cleaned. This will optimize and remove redundant or unwanted items.

Defrag your hard drive. This will greatly increase the speed and reliability of your operating system (it will handle the "SLOW" portion of your question). Try Diskeeper, it is the best!

    And practice good maintenance...

Delete any unused or unnecessary programs and files. These may be taking up space, memory and resources, thus slowing your computer. Also delete your cashe/ temp files, empty your recycle bin, clear your internet browsing history, etc.

Take care of your computer. Good Luck!

The reason the computer gets slow is due to the registry files becoming corrupted, or messed up, in simple terms. These files tell the computer or laptop how to operate the software installed on the system. If any of these files get messed up, the computer is not sure what to do and this will really slow down the computer. The other scenario is where you download other software, screensavers, pictures, videos, or even music, and this will somehow change the settings on a registry file. When this happens, the original program that needs that file now has the wrong instructions in it. So, it will cause the computer to run slow, or in a worse case, crash.

You can speed up your computer with a thorough analysis and repair of your registry. I had a virus once that would turn off the computer when it was threatened. I think you should reinstall windows. Take it to a local computer store or look up how to do this online, it's pretty simple.

(You can always try superantispyware, this works really well, look it up!)

One of the main reasons for slow performance is problems with your registry. You can have a free scan of your computer with Registry Fix by going to http://www.registryfixstore.com/ now.

Always choose the top registry cleaners that will offer you a free scan and a money back guarantee. This demostrates the the company has confidence in their product and also protects your hard earned money.

Another major reason is that you have probably got a virus. Go and run a virus scanner such as one called AVG Free. You should have had a virus or firewall software supplied with your computer, but this must be updated frequently to combat the new viruses which seem to come online.

I hope that this information has helped you in someway.
