I used Rapid Rise Yeast instead of regular... Will anything bad happen if I let it rise for 8 hrs anyway?
Hi there! I accidentally used Rapid Rise yeast instead of regular yeast for my homemade wheat bread. It's rising right now. I used warm water, but not hot (which should be used for Rapid Rise yeast.) Will the Rapid Rise act like regular yeast since I just used warm water? Will anything bad happen if I let it rise for 8 hrs and then punch it down and let it rise again (the instructions for regular yeast)?
Thanks!!!

I don't understand why you would want it to rise 8hrs ,that what Rapid yeast is for (I would think) to "cut" down on the rise time that it takes with regular yeast . In answer to you're question I wouldn't it might make the bread "tough". P.S. haven't made homemadde bread in a long time.

With Active Dry Yeast keep dough covered until it doubles in size, anywhere from1-2 hours. With RapidRise Yeast, let the dough rest for 10 minutes. It is not required to double in size.
1. Cover the top of the mixing bowl tightly with a damp, clean cloth or plastic wrap sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. 2. Set the dough in a warm, draft-free place.
