Can police officers go into peoples homes and video tape without permission?

A lady said they video taped her home inside and looked in the ice box and in her cabinets as they came on a neglect call that was unfounded this dont make sense why video anything? She said they did it in the whole house .I thought you needed a warrant for that?

Not unless they had a search warrant. Anyone can make a bogus call.

Yes and you can thank the dems and pubs for the further destruction of that joke of piece of paper the Constitution via the Patriot Act which allows no notice/no presence searches. Not that we ever ignored it before 9/11!! This act has been used primarily for the War on Drugs which is exactly what is was intended to do!!! We the People are truly fools and deserve the governance we get.

This question doesn't make sense - it sounds like you're missing facts.

AFAIK, police don't answer neglect cases - those are typically handled by bureaucracies devoted to child or elder care services.

You need a warrant to enter a location and search for evidence.

Yes. Maybe they had a warrant. I am not aware of any departments that would go videotape a case like this on the first call. Usually, officers would check to see if the call was substantiated. If it is, then maybe they will make notification to ACS/SRS and others.

“in this difficulty; a Police Officer replaced into assigned to check out plausible drug pastime at a community resident. even as he knocked on the door, he began explaining to the guy who answered it his concerns, and why he replaced into there. even as he replaced into chatting with the guy, he began to sniff a good acidic order coming from contained in the domicile; that he believed could be used to fabricate the drug methamphetamine. What could he do?”

If they get a call then its their job. If they are the ones who were suspicious they need a warrant.

They had just cause because of the call. They have to investigate when they get calls. That's their job.
