But that's the Wayna Picchu and indeed you can hike it, but you are allowed to do it if you get to the control-ed entrance before 1:00 pm. It takes a little more than an hour to get to the top and the trail consists of many sets of man-made stone stairways.

There is an entrance booth were you have to sign up, then just before the climb you'll see a small wooden sign on your left saying "Templo de la Luna, do not pass", this is an interesting road downhill on the backside of Wayna Picchu that takes you to small temple carved into the rock ledge (what's left of it ).

It's ok to go there when is dry (June-August), but they must have forbid it because when it rains the road must be dangerously slippery. But the Inkas were smart enough to carve at one point, the rock ledge to protect you from the rain and at the most dangerous part, a bend in the middle of a 150 yard fall, they carved the solid granite wall in order to make you a sidewalk with a small wall to protect you from falling. An interesting fact about the Moon Temple is that the weather there is very hot compared to the weather in Macchu Picchu.

Finaly I would like to say that if you look closely at any good picture of the Wayna Picchu, you can see that there's also a road that runs right in front of it in a downhill angle to the right end of it's silouete. Surely there is a guard post or maybe a sacred place at the end of that road but nobody has ever mentioned it still.

Dry season contained in the Andes is from June to September. in spite of the indisputable fact that, the more beneficial into the dry season that you shuttle, the dryer each thing will seem. So in case you bypass in August, as an social gathering, each of the ecosystem of Cuzco will be dried up and yellow. Machu Picchu, on the different hand is contained in the jungle, so that's forever eco-friendly. in spite of the indisputable fact that, to get to Machu Picchu, you may go by Cuzco and a visit to Cuzco even as that's dry and withered isn't as a lot exciting as a visit even as it remains eco-friendly. My suggestion, as a pro tourist in Peru is to attempt to get there contained in the early element of the dry season. that is oftentimes what I do. words of advice. Even contained in the dry season you could get rain, so be prepared. also, e book oyur practice tickets early, that is the major bottleneck contained in the Machu Picchu vacation as there is in effortless words one business enterprise that grants the vacation (i'm enclosing the internet web site).

Wayna picchu is more popular picture than Machu Picchu. Any way you can hike all of these mountains but in rainy days i would not recommend to do that.
